Storytales

We are committed to making math education fun and meaningful for your children.  A great way to start is to simply watch the narrated versions of our introductory math stories on YouTube.  The stories are categorized further below on this web page.  Optionally, you can purchase a pdf version of the stories which includes an important mini-curriculum with answers.  To give you some insight into the power of stories for helping your children further their education, please read this very powerful article that references Einstein, story tales and intelligence!!!

Software

For advanced elementary students and beyond, we have quite the variety of software that was designed to reinforce math concepts in a unique way.  "Radian Paint" is our entry-level illustration program that allows students to create geometric designs, while reinforcing some important math concepts like Cartesian and Polar coordinates, Degrees and Radians, and Cosine and Sine functions.  This software runs under Windows 7, with a minimum screen resolution of 1366 x 768.

For students with an interest in computers, we have 7 stories to introduce computer fundamentals...from a programmer's perspective.  We follow that with our simplified, introductory programming language that allows for the creation of geometric designs, as well as simple animations.  Requires Windows 7 and a minimum of 1366 x 768 resolution.  You can get an idea of the power and simplicity of this program by watching the videos in the Geometric Designs category of videos, further below.

Storm Chaser!

For high school students and above, I'm in the process of developing an applied math curriculum that revolves around storm chasing!  That way, you can see the power of math being put to use in a meaningful way.  Believe it or not, those meteorologists that you see on television, giving the weather forecast, know a boatload of math and science!  The best storm chasers are unbelievably smart, with advanced degrees in math, science and engineering!!!  To help you get started, so you can become a better storm chaser someday, we apply math concepts that you learn here.  For now, just follow the beginning stages of our new site:  www.TornadoOutbreak.com

Video Categories

For elementary students in the 7-9 year age range, we recommend that you start with the Fractions & Percentages stories, followed by Areas & Volumes stories.  As time permits, I narrate the stories and post them on YouTube.  Optionally, importantly, you can purchase the e-book version of the stories, in pdf file format, which includes an average of 100 exercises, with answers, per volume. The stories really help to make the learning process more fun!  The stories are quite affordable, especially when you consider the hundreds of free-to-view video lessons that we have posted on YouTube.  The video lessons reinforce the concepts learned within the stories.

There are currently 65 stories in our storybook math curriculum.  The categories include Fractions & Percentages, Areas & Volumes, Simple Equations, Geometric Drawings, and Vectors & Trigonometry.  There are over 250 video lessons as well, some of which are grouped into categories below.
